Cast Your Vote
A playful, intuitive interface that made in-park voting effortless and fun. AboutView Figma PrototypeAbout the Project
To celebrate Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, we introduced a magical enhancement to the beloved World of Color nighttime spectacular: a live, in-park voting experience that allowed guests at Disney California Adventure to choose their favorite Inside Out character—culminating in a character-themed addition to the show.
The Problem
There is a desire to give the guests the power to choose what kind of show they want at Disney California Adventure’s World of Color. How might we give the guest an interactive experience from their mobile phones in order to achieve a fun and entertaining approach.
The Solution and My Approach
I led the design of a visually engaging and intuitive interface that delighted guests while maintaining seamless integration with the Disneyland app. I ensured the guest experience was both playful and technically sound. In partnership with Pixar, we adhered to strict brand and IP guidelines, ensuring character integrity while delivering an experience that celebrated creativity and user interaction.

Push Notification journey
This flowchart represents the prerequisites for a push notification badge to appear on the guest’s phone.
Homescreen Takeover
This flowchart represents the requirements for elements to appear on the Disneyland app. This gives precedence and importance to guests to encourage them to vote. The homescreen displays a card titled, “Show Us Your Emotions” to achieve this. Another scenario that promote a call to action to vote is an entire screen take over at a certain time the guest is on the Disneyland app.
